Celebrating ageing well at the Seniors Festival

Published on 30 September 2022

The Victorian Seniors Festival is on again and spaces for City of Melton events are filling fast.

This year’s festival features a fantastic array of social activities for seniors to enjoy or try for the first time.

A celebration of ageing well and the contributions seniors make in our community, senior residents can enjoy a free art and movement workshop presented by arts therapist Andrea Nersesian and, inspired by Julie Zapasa’s exhibition, Anima Animus which is a chance to embrace perceived imperfections and turn them into creative inspiration.

For the more adventurous, Rhythm Rockers is holding a free line dancing workshop at Melton Amphitheatre to get you up and moving.

The Seniors Festival will run from 1 – 31 October.

Quotes attributable to Mayor of Melton, Cr Goran Kesic:

“The festival is a wonderful opportunity for our older residents to celebrate being a senior and have some fun.

“Whether it’s learning how to plant an edible garden in a small space or having a nice morning tea at Burnside, there’s something for everyone at our Seniors Festival.

“There’s still plenty of spaces available for everything from line dancing or trivia to arts therapy.”
