Call for Nature Stewards

Published on 15 August 2019

Discover more about your local environment by participating in a 10-week program run by Outdoors Victoria.

The Nature Stewards program is an opportunity to meet others, connect with nature and find ways to get outdoors and volunteer.

Nature Stewards will introduce you to local and wider Victorian ecosystems and natural places, and will cover topics such as plants and animals; rocks and soils; climate and seasons.

The program is open to anyone over the age of 18, with a preference given to City of Melton residents. Places are limited to 20 and the program will run from October to December 2019.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Bob Turner encouraged residents to participate in the program.

“If you would like to spend more time with nature, then the Nature Stewards program is the perfect opportunity to make it a reality."

“We know many City of Melton residents are passionate about the natural environment. To help them learn more about it, Council is pleased to offer a 50 per cent subsidy on the pilot program fees. This program is a great opportunity to discover the many wonders in our own backyard.”
