Melton City Council is launching the inaugural Melton Lifelong Learning Festival to be held in early October.
The festival is a three-day celebration of all that is lifelong, life-deep and life-wide learning in the City of Melton.
With the inclusive community event less than four weeks away, residents are being urged to mark their calendars and pick out some free activities to try.
Council will host a range of free learning activities for people of all ages, including yoga for children, a workshop on the benefits of indoor plants, Bollywood dancing and language classes.
Some of the activities will require booking, so residents are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.
The festival is will promote Melton as a Learning City, while also promoting the benefits of ongoing learning.
City of Melton Mayor, Cr Bob Turner, said learning was a fun, social activity which could make life more fulfilling and enjoyable.
“The Melton Lifelong Learning Festival will help showcase all the great learning opportunities available in Melton,” Cr Turner said.
“It will also help curious locals connect with service providers, and build networks with other likeminded individuals.
“There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain, so I urge everyone to try something new during the festival.”
The festival will run between 5-7 October.
