Cr Ken Hardy

Ken Hardy has lived in Melton South for 34 years and has worked as an occupational health and safety inspector for Workcover, was in senior management in the building and construction industry, and has been involved in occupational health and safety, industrial relations and contract management.

His aim as a Councillor is to help address what he identifies are the challenges to Melton’s future growth: more than 17 per cent youth unemployment, and the lack of a public hospital and TAFE institution.

Ken backs the motion unanimously passed by Melton Council that an investigation be done to identify land that would support a public/private and allied health service facility precinct in Melton.

He advocates for re-introducing TAFE to boost local apprenticeships and technical qualifications so that unemployed youth get the skills they need to compete in the job market.

Cr Hardy served as Deputy Mayor in 2017/2018.
