Teenage Holiday Program

Here's a taste of what’s available throughout the year:

Drop-in programs:

No need to book, just come on in, sign up, then feel free to drop in throughout the year.

LaunchPad - Melton Youth Facility


Monday, 3pm - 7pm
12 to 17 year olds

Thursday, 3pm - 7pm
12 to 25 year olds

Friday, 3pm - 7pm
12 to 25 year olds

Supervised internet and email access for young people including access to LAN gaming and consoles and space to socialise and catch up with friends.

Times and age structure subject to change.

Taylors Hill Drop-in - Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre

Thursday 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Friday, 3.30pm – 5.30pm

Supervised internet and email access during school term for young people aged 12 to 17 years including access to LAN gaming and consoles and space to socialise and catch up with friends. 

Girls’ Night in
Tuesday Night 3pm - 6pm at Launchpad (Melton Youth Facility) is ‘Girls only’ night with different activities every week. 

Boys’ Night in
Wednesday Night 3pm - 7pm at Launchpad (Melton Youth Facility) is ‘Boys only’ night with different activities every week. 


Other Activities and Programs

WestWorld FilmFest
WestWorld FilmFest is a year-round program of film-skills workshops, film-making facilitation events and a short film competition for young people (aged 12-25) across the western suburbs of Melbourne. 

North by Northwest Acting Group
Acting training and performance opportunities for 15 to 25 year olds. Workshops term 1 (commencing early February), rehearsals term 2, theatre production term 3 (early August). Participation is free! Sessions held at Taylors Hill Youth & Community Centre. Free shuttle from Melton Youth Centre & Caroline Springs Library.

Scene 1 Drama Group
Free introductory acting workshops for 11 to 14 year olds. Build confidence and make friends while developing your performance skills. Sessions held at Melton Youth Centre. Free shuttle available from Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre and Caroline Springs Library.

Arts Encounters
Free and discounted excursions to see professional theatre productions. Regular events throughout the year, including Bell Shakespeare, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne Theatre Co., Malthouse Theatre & Red Stitch Actors Theatre. Transport provided. (NNW & Scene 1 participants have priority for these activities.)

Teenage Holiday Program (THP)
THP is an excursion based program for young people of secondary school age run each school holiday period. There is a small charge for most activities. The program is posted on the Council's website in the weeks leading up to school holidays each term and bookings can be made at that time. Skate events
We regularly organise skate, scooter and BMX competitions and events in the Municipality. Get in contact with us if you would like to get involved in organising events.

FReeZA Music events
With the help of Council’s Youth Services, local young people often organise large drug and alcohol free music events in the Municipality including Ignite Productionz. Contact us to find out how to get involved.

Youth Week
Every year around April, we organise a number of events to mark National Youth Week, the largest celebration of young people in Australia. It aims to encourage young people to share ideas, attend live events, have their voices heard on issues of concern to them, showcase their talents, celebrate their contribution to the community, take part in competitions, and have fun.
