Environmental Grants 2017

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5  June 2017 Council  has awarded five grants of $2000.

Projects are from environmental groups working on public land within the City of Melton, or environment and other groups working in a public capacity on environmental projects. The grants aim to improve the communication of the groups work with local residents, or assist with local projects that improve the local community's knowledge of environmental assets or programs.

The five successful groups received grants for the following projects:

  • Australia Dingo Foundation Inc- display flags to use at local public events
  • Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden - signage about birds and invertebrates in the Melton Botanic Garden
  • Friends of Toolern Creek - displays for the Platypus Festival 2017
  • Melton Environment Group - celebrating Bird Week 2017 Community Events
  • Utsav Malayalee Samaj - equipment, plants and promotional materials for 3 plantings at The Ridge Caroline Springs

World Environment Day Grants are open on 1 February and close at the beginning of May.
