Environmental Grants 2017

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5  June 2017 Council  has available five grants of $2000.

Applications are invited from environmental groups working on public land within the City of Melton, or environment and other groups working in a public capacity on environmental projects. The grants aim to improve the communication of the groups work with local residents, or assist with local projects that improve the local community's knowledge of environmental assets or programs.

World Environment Day Grants are open on 1 February and close at 5pm on 8 May. Applicants will be notified by Monday 22 May 2017 of the outcome of their application.

In June 2016, four successful groups received grants for the following projects:

  • Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden - signage about birds in the Melton Botanic Garden
  • Friends of Toolern Creek - live birds display for the Platypus Festival 2016
  • Melton Environment Group - celebrating Bird Week 2016 Community Events
  • Utsav Malayalee Samaj - Tools and safety equipment for planting at The Ridge Caroline Springs
