Environmental Grants

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June 2018, Council has community grants available. 

Applications are invited from groups within the City of Melton

  • environment and other groups working in a public capacity on environmental projects.
  • environmental and other groups working on public land.

The grants aim to improve the communication of the groups' work with local residents, or assist with local projects that improve the local community's knowledge of environmental assets or programs.

World Environment Day Grants will open on 1 March 2018.  Applicants must complete the Application form(DOCX, 192KB) and submit by 5pm on 1 May.  Groups will be notified by Tuesday 22 May of the results and invited to a presentation on World Environment Day on 5 June.

In 2017 the five successful groups received grants for the following projects:

  • Australia Dingo Foundation Inc- display flags to use at local public events
  • Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden - signage about birds and invertebrates in the Melton Botanic Garden
  • Friends of Toolern Creek - displays for the Platypus Festival 2017
  • Melton Environment Group - celebrating Bird Week 2017 Community Events
  • Utsav Malayalee Samaj - equipment, plants and promotional materials for 3 plantings at The Ridge Caroline Springs
