| Melton Shire Council's Youth Services offers an extensive range of programs, events and support services for young people aged 12-25 years and their families.
The Youth Services team works to secure the best possible outcomes for young people through collaborative, innovative and inclusive service provision, and is committed to the following principles when working with young people;
- Consultation: We will consult with young people about events, programs and issues that will effect them.
- Inclusion: We will value and include young people in the decision making process.
- Respect: We will respect young people in the decision making process.
- Acceptance: We will accept what young people have to say.
- Equality: We will treat young people as equals.

| 6801 Youth Outreach Service | | This outreach service provides crisis response, youth and family support, and community safety programs between the hours of 6pm and 12am on Friday and Saturday nights. This service can be contacted on 9743 6801 (Friday and Saturday nights only). Top

| Careers Expo | | | The Melton Shire Careers Expo brings career, employment and training opportunities to the community by connecting organisations with career minded individuals. This expo extends its reach to school leavers, students, graduates, job seekers and people looking for a career change. With approximately 80 exhibitors the expo showcases tertiary institutions, training colleges and employers providing a one-stop shop when searching for career information. The expo is a partnership between Melton Shire Council, the Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN) and local schools in the Melton Shire. Top

| Common Solutions Project | | Common Solutions Project This project seeks to get local agencies and groups (e.g. families, schools, local government, business, police and justice, sport, arts, faith organisations) working together to improve young people's connection and participation in their local area. Projects include: • Youth Peer Research on Melton Image • Parent Survey • Melton Youth Magazine • Parent Support Initiative • School Engagement Initiative Top

| Drop in Programs | | | Young people have the opportunity to participate in a range of in-house, drop in based activities at Diggers Rest and Caroline Springs. Top

| LaunchPad - Youth Internet Cafe | | Launchpad provides supervised internet and email access for young people aged 12 to 25 years including access to LAN gaming and consoles and space to socialise and catch up with friends. Launchpad is open weekdays 3pm – 7pm (Tuesday nights are ‘Girls Only’).

| Mentoring Project | | | Youth Services is developing a program for young people between 12-18 who would benefit from spending time with an adult mentor and share recreational activities, fun and friendship. We would love to hear ideas from young people about sorts of activities and the important qualities of a mentor. Top

| MYAN | | Melton Youth Advisory Network (MYAN) is hosted by Melton Shire Council's Youth Services. The group meets monthly to address local issues relevant to young people and their families. This network consists of youth and community workers, young people, schools and residents who actively engage with young people across the Shire of Melton. MYAN Webpage Top

| Reconnect Program | | Are you thinking about leaving home??? Are you having difficulties with school and maybe with your parents and siblings??? If you (or your child) are aged between 12 and 18 years and live, work or study in the Melton Shire then Reconnect Service can help!! Reconnect is a program that provides confidential support to Young people and their families. Reconnect helps young people become more involved with their family, work, education, training and community through mediation, counselling and practical support for the whole family. | Youth Week | | | National Youth Week (NYW) is the largest celebration of young people in Australia. Thousands of young people aged 12-25 years all across Australia get involved in NYW each year. It aims to encourage young people to: share ideas, attend live events, have their voices heard on issues of concern to them, showcase their talents, celebrate their contribution to the community, take part in competitions, and have fun!
