Expression of Interest for Frontier Recreation Reserve

Aintree is one of the City of Melton’s newest suburbs and is situated north of the original Rockbank township and largely comprises of the Woodlea estate. Access is via Leakes Rd to the north of the Western Freeway. At completion, the suburb will include over 7000 homes (currently 500), schools, a major town centre and an impressive array of sporting and community facilities.

Facilities

The development of the Frontier Recreation Reserve will provide the local community and surrounding precincts with modern and accessible sporting and recreation facilities. The reserve when complete will comprise of:

  • 2 natural grass Ovals  with lighting
  • Cricket practice nets
  • Sports pavilion/community room  
  • 8 acrylic tennis courts with lighting
  • Tennis room
  • 2 acrylic multi-purpose courts with lighting

Expression of Interest

Melton City Council is seeking expressions of interest from local leisure organisations, sports clubs and community groups wanting to utilise the facilities as outlined below.

Oval 1 - available for training use only NOT competition until March 2019
Community Room/Pavilion - can accommodate up to 40 people.  Small kitchen (microwave, fridge, stove). 4 tables and 40 chairs.
Tennis Courts - 8 courts to be completed by approximately December 2018
Tennis Meeting Room - available for small groups
