Summer of Street Art

Summer of Street Art

Laneway Mural in Town Centre

Four local artists will soon complete the McKenzie street laneway with guidance from Damien Arena, one of the West’s well-loved street artists. This crew will be producing an integrated set of mural artworks on both sides of the laneway between McKenzie St and High St (next to 110 McKenzie St).

What you need to know about the Laneway mural:

  • in order to keep you safe and allow artists to do their work, High Street / McKenzie St Laneway will be closed from public access from 19 – 29 February.
  • pedestrians will still be able to enter McKenzie St and High St via all other access points.
  • these mural works will not affect vehicle traffic or business operations.
  • the murals are part of a program designed to reduce graffiti and will help young people to develop creative skills and respect civic spaces.

All above activities form part of a Melton Graffiti Preventative Education and Street Art Activation Program, which is funded by the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program.
