Applications for permits to operate Mobile Food Vans (MFV) in the City of Melton are now open.

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from Mobile Food Van operators who are keen to offer their products in one of three key locations across the municipality:

  • Navan Park, Centenary Avenue, Melton
  • Hannah Watts Park, High Street, Melton
  • Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre, Calder Park Drive, Taylors Hill

Permits will be allocated on an annual basis, for twelve month periods.

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Sophie Ramsey, said Council was looking for quality operators who could add value to open space experiences within the community.

“Our aim is to work with food truck operators to ensure that there’s a balance between their needs, and the needs of residents, park users and the overall community,” the Mayor said.

Interested MFV operators are required to read the City of Melton Mobile Food Van Policy and complete an Expression of Interest: Mobile Food Van Permit form.

Expressions of Interest forms must be received no later than COB, Friday 28 April 2017 to be considered for a Mobile Food Van Permit.
