Join in the fun this Children’s Week

The City of Melton is helping residents celebrate Children’s Week by hosting a range of free and entertaining events.

Children’s Week is a national program recognising the talents, skills, achievements and rights of young people.

The week also highlights the importance of educational services, and the part they play in ensuring every child experiences the chance to succeed, in learning and in life.

This year, Children’s Week will be held between 21- 29 October, and the Melton City Council is getting involved by organising fun events for families.

During Children’s Week, local councils, organisations, schools and early childhood services organise a range of open days, displays and special events that celebrate childhood and showcase children's achievements.

Council is running two free family fun days, for the community to attend and enjoy.

Melton Community Hall will host the first event on 24 October, while the second family day will be held on 26 October, at the Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre.

Free children restraint fillings, and anti-theft screw fittings, are being offered at both events.
