The new Melton Library and Learning Hub continues to take shape with all external structures completed and significant progress made on the preparation of the internal areas.

Most recently, roofing works to the southern half of the building has commenced and stud wall frames to all internal walls have been erected. The wiring for the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and AV services is also well underway.

Local contractor SGA Engineering is responsible for undertaking significant works as part of the construction including providing and erecting the structural steel and erecting the timber structure.

The new library will have a floor area of over 3,400 square metres, spread over two levels, which is over four times bigger than the old library.

Work on the Melton Library and Learning Hub is scheduled for completion in mid 2013.
